When Peanut Butter & Co. asked me to try out their newest product, Chocmeister Milk Chocolatey Hazelnut Spread, and include it in a recipe, I didn’t have to think too hard about it. They asked me to include berries (check!), or bananas (check!), and focus on breakfast or dessert. Okay. How about breakfast for dessert? Or dessert for breakfast? (check! check! and double-check!) I like options.
I couldn’t resist making a variation on my favorite breakfast, Muesli. Chocolate for breakfast! Loads of protein and fiber, and a deliciously sweet and decadent, rich and velvety texture… what’s not to love?

With 25% less sugar and double the protein of The Big N, you can feel a little less guilty about indulging your chocolatey hazelnut cravings – even at breakfast!
Chocolate Hazelnut Muesli
Ingredients:
- 1 cup plain yogurt (or Greek-style yogurt)
- 1 cup milk
- 4 Tbs. Peanut Butter & Co. Chocmeister Milk Chocolatey Hazelnut Spread
- 1 Tbs. lemon juice
- 1 cup old-fashioned oatmeal (uncooked)
- 1/4 cup hulled hemp seed hearts
- 1 large apple, unpeeled and shredded
- 1 banana, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
- 1/4 cup chopped lightly toasted hazelnuts
Preparation:
Using a blender or stick blender, blend together the milk, yogurt, and Chocmeister Spread in a large bowl. If you’re feeling energetic, you can use a hand whisk.
Mix in all of the remaining ingredients, thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate overnight before eating.
In a resealable container or in mason jars in the fridge, the muesli will keep for about a week. If, in the morning, it seems too thick for your preference, add a little more milk. If a little liquid forms on top during storage, it’s just fruit juice – stir it back in.
What I really loved about Chocmeister, though, is that it contains 25% less sugar and double the protein of the leading chocolate hazelnut spread you’ve loved all these years. It tastes a tiny bit less sweet than “the Big N”, but so very rich and chocolatey and has BIG hazelnut flavor. Perfect for everything from toast to strawberries to pound cake. And more.
Put a couple of spoonfuls in your next smoothie, or try one of these recipes from the archives, using Milk Chocolatey Chocmeister instead of the old brand:
