I know, right? Weren’t you getting tired of hearing me (okay, reading me) oooo and ahhhh over your butterfly pictures and then bitch about never getting one to hold still long enough for me to get a shot? Well, I was.
I think this White Peacock butterfly must have just recently emerged from its cocoon, because it actually waited in the same spot for me to run back into the house and get my camera! And then it pretty much stayed in place for a long while, stretching its wings back and forth in the sun, as if to dry them out and exercise them.
Please feel free to click on the images for the best views. Yes, I was thrilled, thankyouverymuch!

I love the way you studiously study these butterflies. I like the leaves under them – such soft shades of green.Hopefully, I'm dragging my kids to a world class bird observatory this morning at Cape May. I told them I get one hour for ME.

Lovely captures. Your butterfly does look pristine, I wish any butterfly would hold still for me.

Those are great shots of the butterflies. The peacock is one I don't think I've ever seen.

OH MY GOSH…what a gorgeous photo of a Butterfly! Have you been to the San Diego Zoo? They have a butterfly enclosure and you walk inside the butterflies are zooming around like the Blue Angels! So gorgeous and so fun!

Oh RJ… what a beautiful butterfly. I love the patterns. It is very difficult to get a butterfly. I can't tell you how many times I have chased one around the pond only to have the camera batteries die. Really! But this is beautiful. Thank you for posting to Nature Notes.. Michelle

Sorry to be so late getting around to everyone! I really appreciate your kind comments on my blogs and I feel badly that it's taken me so long to get back here this week. That is an amazing set of butterfly shots. I've never seen that species. It is gorgeous, and you've capture it so well! I'm not so lucky with butterflies, or birds either, for that matter. I have no great shots of either.
