It is, of course, purely coincidental that this blog is pink, but terribly fashionable for the month of October, which is “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”. I received the following e-mail from a co-worker (I’ve edited it to be less chain-letterish):

“Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer Site needs lots of people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on ‘donating a mammogram’ for free (pink window in the middle).
This doesn’t cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors /advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising. Here’s the web site! Pass it along to people you know. “

The eternal skeptic that I am, I have checked this out, and it is true! It takes 45,000 clicks to earn one free mammogram for a woman who can’t afford one. You can only click once a day, but you can click every day in the month of October. So, please bookmark the site, and send this to everyone in your address book. One of the few truly cheap and quick ways to do some good in the world.

And as we know, I’m all about the cheap and quick!

This will take you to an honest-to-god-real-website where, merely by clicking – at no cost to you – you can contribute to a number of very good causes, such as the aforementioned Breast Cancer Site. Once you’re there, you can click on any of a number of different tabs where you can click and do some good for animals, the environment, etc. etc. etc. You can also shop for charity. Does it get any better than that?
