Remember this? Some of you who have been with me since last Spring/Summer will recognize this Missing Child poster. On and off since around last May or so, I’ve asked you to be on the lookout for little Amedeo Cuomo, whose non-custodial mother kidnapped him and disappeared. Amedeo’s father is the friend of a friend of mine, and was absolutely frantic about his disappearance. The FBI and Interpol were both looking for him and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children published this poster. A number of you blogged about this and many more started e-mailing their friends all over the world.

Where In The World Is Amedeo Cuomo? is the question I posed. Well, I have good news – that question has been answered! Amedeo and his mother have been found in Costa Rica. By way of Austria. The mother is currently in custody on immigration violations (false documents with false identities, etc.) and of course, child-stealing (for which she will probably be extradited back to the U.S.). All personally verified by me through several independent sources, including law enforcement. I don’t know all the details, so I’m not going to start spreading wild rumors and speculation here.

While Amedeo and his father have been reunited, they are not home yet – red tape and all of that – but hopefully, soon.

So, Thank You! to all of you out there in Blogger Land! I’d like to think we made a difference. We may never know. But one thing I do know: There’s one less missing child out there, and we all cared.

Because Someone Cares is, in her own words: “A personal perspective of life and all the things I am passionate about. Products of value, Pesons of Interest, Charities to get involved in. Sit back, take it all in, find something relative to your life, and share your thoughts.” There’s fun stuff like discovering “Dump Cake”, to the more serious “Two For Tuesdays”, where she spotlights 2 deserving causes/charities for us learn about and support every week, and of course, everything is all wrapped up in living and loving and kids. Check her out Because Someone Cares!

And please don’t forget to spread the word by blog or by e-mail about little Amedeo Cuomo! Amedeo is the son of a very dear friend of a very old and dear friend of mine. His mother (who did not have custody), made off with him and disappeared. They are believed to have been sighted in Europe, but could be back in the U.S. now. Please click on this poster to enlarge it and take a good look:

Let this be your first mitzva (good deed) for Rosh Hashana, pile up the Karma points, or just be a good egg — like Mommyto2. Thanks again!

If you blog about Amedeo, including this poster in your post, please let me know, and I’ll write about your blog, too. I don’t care about my own numbers – I just want Geno to get his kid back!

I just want to take a moment to thank Houndsgood for taking the time to post about missing 2-year old Amedeo Cuomo. Houndsgood has a great blog revolving around armchair volunteerism.

Her special emphasis is on the adoption of abandoned goggies and kittehs from the Heard Co., Georgia animal shelter. They apparently still euthanize on a schedule and Houndsgood’s “Time Up List For The Week”, well, it’ll break your heart. Our own JJ is a shelter kitteh, and the others we’ve had over the years have been Publix pick-ups or from friends’ litters.

But mostly, she hopes “to inspire others to believe that no matter how marginalized they feel, they can make a big difference if only to change the life of one animal or one person they will never meet, who will in turn pay it forward.” She’s also got tech tips to help you get around the internet for those that may want to reach out in that way, and volunteer opportunities; information about computers and blogging, furthering the self through education, fundraising ideas, cruelty free products, things out there to make life easier, virtual networking and of course, animal rescue.

So, thanks again, Houndsgood, for helping to spread the word about Amedeo, and hopefully bringing him home again soon, too!

You all know that I hate spam and there are a gazillion phony missing child notices making the rounds on the web, morphing as they go. I cannot emphasize enough that this is for real. I personally know the person making the request.

This is about the missing son of a very dear friend of a good friend of mine, and he has been searching for his son, Amedeo Cuomo, for over 1 year! Amedeo was taken by his mother, who did NOT have custody.

He could be anywhere in the world, but the last known country was Germany. There is also a possibility that he may be back in the U.S. (California???), or he may be in India – the bottom line is that no one really knows!

Those of you who read me, and others who are SocialSpark friends are all over the U.S. and all over the world. Those of you who blog have readers way farther than my puny reach. That’s why I would ask you, from the bottom of my heart, to post this on your own blogs and/or forward it as an e-mail to as many people as you know, in the hope that someone, somewhere, will recognize this kid or his mother and contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (missingkids.com).

The FBI and Interpol are also looking for the mother, so they can be alerted also if anyone has any information as to their whereabouts. Click on this poster to make it larger:
Please feel free to just copy this post, or just the poster above. We’re bloggers and we’re a world community. We have the power of communication quite literally at our fingertips.

Thanks in advance for your help.
